Counselor's Corner - Kim Allred

Food for Kids

If you need a bag of food to take home each weekend, please contact me.  These food bags are made possible through the Rice Depot and donations from local businesses.

School Supplies
School supplies are available in the Counselor's office for students in need. The Council of Churches and "Stuff the Bus" program help provide these supplies.

A child's success in school depends on how that child feels about going to school.  As parents, you should help your child develop a
good attitude towards school and teach him/her that it is a place where children will be happy and learn interesting things.

How well your child does in school is greatly dependent upon what you do before he/she enters the doors.  You as a parent are the first and most important teacher your child will ever have.  Follow the suggestions below to help set the tone for school.
  1. Insure a good night's sleep
  2. Provide a good breakfast
  3. Dress the child comfortably
  4. Make sure the child attends school daily
  5. Make sure the child is on time
  6. Send a happy child to school
  7. Encourage the child to do his/her best
  8. Be proud of the child
